Job Description
We are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant in a dynamic role based at our Leeds office. You will be responsible for providing support to ensure that premises and other general facilities across the UK, are maintained to the highest standard. As part of your role, you will trouble shoot and provide fixes where necessary, in line with Health and Safety regulations.
Where you’ll work:
We operate a hybrid working model combining remote working with some days in our modern Leeds city centre office.
What you will be doing
- Office porterage as required, including office and furniture moves and working with IT Service desk as required
- Carrying out periodic Health & Safety Checks in all centres including risk assessments
- Maintaining printer/stationery stock levels and communicating with suppliers
- Monitor all required planned and reactive maintenance at each centre, using approved suppliers or contractors
- Carry out building and meeting room checks daily
- Ensure all floor plans are updated regularly
- Ensure any contractors onsite have appropriate work permits and documentation
- Ensure all mail delivered to StepChange is date stamped, sorted and delivered to the right department
- May require travel to other FCC centres
- Carry out general maintenance activities as required including the use of hand tools
- Lamp repair and changing
- Maintenance / repair to joinery and building fabric

What we want from you
- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service role, being able to adapt to the internal and external customer
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel and Outlook
- Able to establish and maintain record systems including data management for internal reports and audit purposes
- Fire warden experience
- Able to perform and use online task related reporting platforms (desirable)
- Experienced in Facilities or Building Services Management role (desirable)
- DSE assessor trained (desirable)
- First aid trained (desirable)
- Knowledge of H&S legislation particularly in respect to DSE (desirable)
