Salary: £45,600 – £67,200 per year
ESRI partner and leading end-to-end provider of GIS solutions, predominantly for the defence and national security industries. If you have significant experience on similar projects such as with the MoD, and are interested in applying your technical GIS skill, this is an opportunity to join a close-knit and high performing team of like-minded specialists. Your main function will be to provide GIS technical support in the defence and security domain in the UK and overseas. Occasionally you will be embedded into customer organisations to provide direct support. A typical working day will involve technical integration, configuration and development, but can also include written reports and investigations, verbal presentations or running of workshops to capture user requirements.
/Skills:
At least BSc 2:1 or above in GIS/ICT/Engineering or related: Preferably MSc level in GIS.
Ability/desire to take lead on engagements.
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of a GIS and its applications to support business decision making
Have advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop software – version 9.3.1 and later, and knowledge of ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 or later
Experience in designing/implementing geospatial work flows and geospatial data management in file based and RDBMS environments
Knowledge of Model Builder/Python
Knowledge of OGC standards
Experience of direct customer liaison, being able to interact confidently with customers.
An appreciation for MoD research and development programmes and be comfortable working in this environment
Have achieved or be willing to achieve security clearance (SC) and developed vetting (DV).
Be a UK national
Be willing to travel with this role nationally and internationally – commutable locations in UK would be London, Hampshire, Cambridge & Hereford.
