English Tutor Wanted in Duston, Northamptonshire for either 3 days or 5 days per week on a 4 month FTC.
Salary: £33,600p.a. pro-rata.
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced English Tutor to tutor GCSE material to secondary students.
You will be primarily responsible for the delivery of pre-designed key stage 3-4 English materials, that means.
- Less Marking
- Less lesson planning
- Support preparing lesson materials
This is a role based at a school in Duston, Northamptonshire, where you will be tasked with the following:
- Delivering up to 5, 1-hour sessions to a group of up to 6 students
- Completing brief progress reports
- Working either on a 3 day a week basis or full time 5 day a week basis
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience with engaging with young peoples’ activities
- Ability to engage with and inspire young learners by using appropriate training techniques and inter-personal skills
- Create an appropriate learning environment and maintain a disciplinary framework by demonstrating a strong ‘presence’ in the classroom
- Be capable of modifying delivery method dependant on the learners in the group
- Be able to work to deadlines
- Have good ICT skills using Microsoft Office software
- The ability to adapt to different learning styles at pace
In order to deliver this qualification to PET-Xi standards, staff must hold (or be working towards):
- A level 3 or higher teaching qualification
- An Enhanced current DBS check, preferably on the update service. (Essential)

- Excellent communication skills
- Presentation, written and verbal.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage own diary.
