London South Bank University (LSBU) is one of London’s largest and oldest universities with over 25,000 students and 1,900 staff. The University has a large and diverse estate portfolio with over 30 buildings totalling 120,000m2 in size.
Working within the LSBU Estates & Facilities Estates Directorate, the Engineering and Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the line management of the maintenance team ensuring an effective physical environment. This is an autonomous post covering all aspects of operational and maintenance management with full accountability for the annual budget and performance management of all in-house and contracted teams. Acting as the Technical Client representing Estate Management, you will represent all engineering interests, in major new build and minor works projects.
The successful candidate will possess a formal engineering qualification in addition to membership of a relevant professional body and ideally be a chartered engineer. You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience across a comparable estate managing the operation, maintenance, repair, upgrade of fabric and replacement of engineering services. You will be an adept contract manager with significant experience in budget preparation and management. This post will suit engineering and maintenance professionals who have a proven track record in a customer focused environment centred on delivery excellence.
