Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

THE ROLE

The Energy Manager is responsible for providing support to a major client’s Energy Team. The Energy Manager will be directed by the client as required but the core responsibilities will be:

  • Prioritising, planning, conducting and reporting energy audits to identify energy exception issues within the client’s retail and manufacturing sites.
  • Using the audit reports to identify estate-wide rollouts of behaviour change or projects.
  • Managing the resolution process of any energy exception issues, including leading calls and meetings with all relevant stakeholders and third-party suppliers
  • Liaison with all stakeholders on relevant energy, maintenance and behavioural calls
  • Carrying out compliance audits (ESOS)

The Energy Manager will be primarily home-based but essentially embedded within the client organisation and will be required to spend time at the client’s offices.

Ideally, the candidate would live within easy reach of the Leeds/Bradford area, but National travel will also be required.

Through task ownership, the role will help ensure contracted energy and service-based solutions are delivered, renewed and enhanced.

A large part of the role will involve harvesting and processing data from various sources to provide energy use visualisation to drive solutions, improvements and efficiencies.

The position requires a high level of interaction and communication with differing levels of seniority, so the applicant should possess the ability to clearly and concisely present information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The applicant will be very driven and display excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.

The role will require someone who has a broad range of Building Services knowledge and the ability to manipulate data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Energy Operations

  • Working with spreadsheets, databases and web-based platforms/tools to review and analyse data sets, such as Energy Consumption, Heating Degree Data, etc.
  • Provide solutions and advice on any exceptions or non-performance on the above data sets
  • Developing and provision of energy reports relating to Energy Performance
  • Provide business cases for large rollout programs related to energy efficiency
  • Build databases, analyse and interpret technical data to assist in the provision and development of the company’s solutions and products, especially those that support the client

Relationship Management

  • Build strong productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote an excellent customer satisfaction environment through effective communication and problem ownership
  • Produce reporting for internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Act as a trusted advisor and consultant to the client, whilst acting in the company’s best interests
  • Be able to work and manage solutions for the client by consulting with specialists in the relevant Building Services or other disciplines

Qualifications (some or all of the following)

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Experience with databases or other information points
  • Experience in processes and process improvement
  • Understanding of contracts, scopes of work, etc.
  • Compliance reporting
  • Commercial awareness
  • Demonstrate experience in customer-facing or internal cross-discipline team role
  • Experience in technical, engineering or building services
