As part of the Technical Delivery Team, the Energy Engineer/Consultant’s primary role is to deliver and support NFU Energy’s project and consultancy services. This is a customer-facing role that requires both technical and client relationship skills. The role further requires collaboration with and support to supplementary departments including Sales & Marketing, Compliance and Energy Account Management, so the ability to build effective and lasting working relationships will be essential.
Working closely with experienced Senior Project Engineers, the role will focus on but not be limited to energy audits, feasibility studies and carbon accounting projects. You will need to have an understanding of the UK energy related compliance schemes, and have experience in interpreting energy, energy cost and carbon equivalent data.
You will have some experience in a similar technical consulting role, with the ability to process and analyse data, communicate well and write technical reports. A history of on time and in budget project management will be a distinct advantage.
Your role and responsibilities will include:
• Analysing and interpreting energy, energy cost and carbon equivalent data.
• Site visits to identify energy saving, renewable generation, carbon accounting and/or energy management opportunities.
• Compiling, modelling and quantifying all relevant data to produce the scoped deliverables.
• Collaborate with relevant energy industry suppliers and service providers.
• Writing the relevant findings into informative and implementable reports.
• Project management and administration.
• Client facing communications.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
• A degree or equivalent qualification in energy, engineering, agriculture, or environmental sciences, and/or, significant technical experience delivering energy projects & services to a diverse client base.
• Technical mathematics skills.
• More than two years’ experience in a delivery role.
• Ability to analyse & quantify data & information.
• Good organisational, reporting and time management skills.
• A good knowledge of the UK energy sector, energy efficiency and energy generation systems.
• Experience of delivering to pre-determined standards & processes.
You will also need to:
• Hold a full, clean driving licence
• Have intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Be willing to travel with potential overnight stays
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possess demonstrable problem solving skills
• Have awareness or experience in UK energy related compliance schemes such as Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS), Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), Renewable Heat Incentive etc.
In return you will receive a competitive salary £34,000 to £38,000 depending on experience, 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), plus company benefits including pension, group life assurance (3 times salary), NFU membership, SimplyHealth Cash Plan, and more.
You will be based at our office in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
