The role – what is it we would like you to do? 
We are currently looking for an experienced Sustainability & Embedded Carbon Consultant to join our growing national team.
 
Your core duties will involve:

  • Carry out sustainability consultancy assignments in a wide range of sectors in the construction industry
  • Work would consist of supporting the sustainability team in the delivery of their work, for example, independently producing Lifecycle Carbon Assessments including embodied carbon, benefits identification and quantification, support on BREEAM assessments
  • Support the provision of bespoke advice to clients including research and data gathering, quantitative analysis (including life cycle assessment, energy and risk models), facilitation of workshops
  • Proficient and skilled in use of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn other software’s such as Power BI, OneClick etc.
  • Producing high quality technical outputs including presentations, reports and datasets
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients to develop and agree robust plans that address a range of stakeholder requirements
  • Assisting with proposal and bid development; compiling case study information for completed projects and general support on marketing activities
  • Representing the company in a professional and diligent manner; meeting and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships

What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:
Essential qualifications required:
Minimum 2:1 at degree level, in any discipline

Preferred qualifications:
Evidence of strong quantitative and research skills, e.g., post graduate qualification or degree in STEM discipline.

Essential sector experience required:

  • Evidence of proactive and collaborative approach to working
  • Roles / experience involving research, analysis, and presentations
  • Experience of an office environment and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience of taking ownership of tasks.
  •  Proficient in MS Office suite, with general strong IT skills.

Preferred sector experience required:

  • Built environment / engineering knowledge is a benefit
  • BIM / digital design / financial modelling knowledge would be welcomed

Soft skills required:

  • Passionate about helping clients to make good decisions and create a fantastic built environment
  • Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills (both internal and external)
    • Confidence in handling numbers in the preparation of reports and economic appraisals.
    • Able to review information quickly and efficiently, making decisions using an appropriate mix of analysis and judgement
    • Interest in and ability to develop an excellent understanding of the processes, practices, policies, initiatives, and innovations which impact on the built environment
