The Electrical Software Project Engineer will be responsible for:
* Discuss customer requirements with both internal team members and with the customer directly.
* Generate a Function Design Specification (FDS) that details how the proposed PLC software will operate and expected results, this will be based on the discussions or from a User Requirement Specification (URS).
* Generate the PLC and SCADA/HMI software to operate the equipment as detailed within the FDS within time scales required for the project. This will require the candidate to work on a wide range of PLC’s, such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Fatek and any others that may crop up.
* Testing of the software either in a simulation environment or using the control panel manufactured within the workshop, this will also include the generation of a test sheet relative to the wiring and operation of the software. This may be with the customer present or to satisfy the operation of the software before travelling to site.
* Travel to site to commission the produced software, including I/O Checks, dry commissioning, process commissioning and final sign-off.
* Update any documentation once the commissioning is complete, liaising with the customer on the performance of the equipment and any changes that may be required.
The ideal Electrical Software Project Engineer will have:
* Minimum of 4 years’ related experience working with PLC’s and other automation equipment in a process environment.
* The ability to work independently, dealing with clients and OEM’s in a professional manner to achieve the project requirements and complete any interfacing with other OEM equipment.
* A valid driving licence and passport and be able/willing to travel both in the UK and worldwide.
* Be fluent in other software products such as, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft SQL and other database software to name a few would be advantageous but not essential
