Electrical/Electronics Engineer
Our client is looking for an Electrical/Electronics Engineer to join their highly successful
team, this role would be ideally suited to a graduate who has gained a few years experience and is now looking for their next career move.
Position Summary:
Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems
Determines design approaches and parameters
Analyses equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests, evaluates and documents results
Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications, reliability and compliance (e.g. RoHS, UL etc.)
Assist with product development or evaluation, as required; could involve greater than two weeks away from the site
May also review vendor capability to support product development
Could be asked to manage a small team or contract staff to achieve project/continuous engineering deliverables
Major responsibilities:
Provide input for, or creation of, functional specifications and requirements to achieve product development
Develop manufacturable creative and innovative design solutions for new and existing electrical/electronic assemblies on products
Manage workload to achieve project time lines.
Work with other departments, customers and suppliers to provide practical technical solutions
Work closely with Engineering colleagues to provide design solutions at system or modular level involving mechanical, electrical or software interfaces
Use experience and knowledge to provide defendable evidence of design robustness.
Follow SOP and quality procedures
To work closely with the project team, helping to guide design decisions on a technical level
Give input to the checking process for verifying design solutions from other engineers
Creation of feasibility studies for electronic design
Must have experience and competency in electrical/electronic verification testing and associated documentation creation
Keep up to date with the latest material and design technologies, and have a general understanding of current manufacturing processes
Perform other duties as assigned
Education / Experience:
Education requirements:
BSc Electrical/Electronics
Number of years related experience:
Preferably 5 years relevant experience within an engineering design environment (time in related education may be considered as part of this period)
Knowledge:
Information Technology:
Proficient in appropriate electronic design tools and techniques.
Computer literate with standard
Microsoft Office applications.
Technical expertise:
Analogue & Digital / Microprocessor based circuit design
FPGA based circuit design
VHDL creation and amendment
Able to produce firmware/ Embedded S/W for CPLD and FPGA and other devices
System diagram creation
Fault finding
Knowledge and application of motion control circuits
Knowledge and application of field bus applications and design
Knowledge and application of EMC design, shielding and testing
Following experience would be advantageous:
Lua programming experience
Preparation of isolation diagrams
A working knowledge of IEC 60601 and FDA CFR21 820.x regulations that govern
Skills:
Working knowledge and experience in OrCAD Schematic Capture
Interrogation of circuit design using appropriate tools
Use of SAP or similar MRP system
Innovative thinker
Excellent communication skills
Clear and legible report writer
Proficient in producing detail and assembly instructions
Prioritization and time management
Produce auditable design documentation
Problem solver
