Salary: £78,000 – £84,000 per year

The EHS Manager is an integral member of the EHS team and will have an impact regarding the profitability of the business through strategic contributions within the Environmental, Health, and Safety function.

The EHS Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities regarding the EHS process, working with our partners, customers you will support them to achieve business objectives through effective environmental, health, and safety systems and processes.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities: EHS Manager

* Ensures, in accordance with the corporate standards, the implementation, updating, review, and auditing of the Company EHS procedures.

* Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provides for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.

* Continually stay abreast of legislation and share your knowledge and experience within the organisation.

* Lead and coordinate, in collaboration with the team, the other functions, and the external consultant, the activities to maintain the Certification of the Quality/Environment/Safety Management System.

* Performs Risk Assessment. Support to developing and implementation of corrective actions.

* Develop H&S plans for projects in collaboration with the project team draft and compile method statements to mount the installation in a safe way.

* Develop emergency plans and implement them as appropriate,

* Organise and develop HSE training for employees and contractors.

* Coordinate safety awareness posters and newsletter communications.

* Develop appropriate safety and environmental auditing tools, create the audit plan and conduct audits as appropriate in offices, projects, and other sites.

* Propose improvements/action plans to cover not conformities coming out from the audits.

* Support and/or take part (in some cases lead) analysis of accident/incident, identifying root causes and propose/suggest improvement plans.

* Coordinate the selection and provision of PPEs

* Supervise and coordinate the subcontractor’s EHS performance and qualification

* Provide technical support to the other Department (e.g. Sales, Engineering, Installation) on any safety-related subjects.

* Work in partnership with the other Department (e.g. Installation, Customer Service) to develop and implement strategies and procedures to increase employee safety & reduce organization risks.

* Interface with worker’s representatives for EHS topics.

* Compile data and develop reports for Central, Regional or Local Government, Corporate entities plus complete most regulatory reporting such as hazardous/ non-hazardous waste annual reports/ permitting.

* Evaluate and control risks to employees and the environment by tracking and measuring environmental attributes by developing and implementing waste reduction/ pollution prevention projects.

* Champions EHS initiatives.

Knowledge & Experience Required EHS Manager

* BS Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety related fields with an emphasis in construction.

* Qualified EHS professional; H&S Degree, Diploma or Master according to the local regulations; for example, NEBOSH Diploma, Chartered Member of IOSH, Master in H&S, etc.

* 5 years of experience managing EHS teams, preferable in the construction area.
