Domiciliary Care Work Coventry

Salary: £26,000 per year

To be part of a team of staff to support and meet the personal care and practical living needs of Service users in a way that respects the wishes and dignity of the individual, while promoting independence. The role includes all aspects of care where appropriate that the service user would reasonably expect from members of their own support network and family or their representatives. This does not include tasks of nursing care.

To adhere to the requirements of the Health and Social Act 2008 and the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety 2010 (England) or The Domiciliary Care Agencies (Wales) Regulations 2004 and the National Minimum Standards for Domiciliary Care Agencies in Wales (2004), as directed by the Manager.

To look after the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of the Clients using a person-centred approach

To observe and promote the Client’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights

To create and maintain good professional relationships with Clients, their family and friends and other stakeholders

To actively support other Care Workers

To adhere to all regulatory and statutory obligations

To undertake the tasks detailed in the Client’s care and support plan using a person-centred approach and in the least intrusive way

To assist Clients getting up in the morning and going to bed at night

To assist Clients to look after their skin, teeth, hair, and nails

To assist Clients with matters relating to personal hygiene

To assist Clients with their medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed in their Medication Care Needs Assessment

To prepare food and drink for the Client, being aware of the Client’s choice, likes/dislikes, nutritional needs, and cultural requirements

To assist in the provision of care and work as part of a team to achieve required standards

To ensure Clients retain their dignity and individuality.

To be involved in the general activities of the care Centre /Unit.
