Domestic Assistant – Hospital Cleaning

We currently have two positions open for a Domestic Cleaner. Upon application, please state which of the two shift slots are best for you.

shift 1 – 30 hours (5 days a week)
shift 2 – 10 hours (2-3 days a week)

To provide Cleaning Services within the Hospital in York to ensure that he environment is clean and tidy at all times. Assist Nursing staff and Ward Housekeepers with the service of patient meals.

ROLE INCLUSIVE OF:

Cleaning of all internal glass including windows, doors and partition glass and mirrors.

Maintenance of floor surface including the use of floor maintenance machines and other electrical equipment

Period deep cleaning of upholstery, carpets and roller blinds

Ensure all refuse including clinical waste is disposed of in a safe manner according to Trust policy and that the ward/ department waste bins are cleaned to agreed standards

Replenish soap, paper towels, alcohol gel and toilet rolls to ensure sufficient supply at all times

Maintain clean bed space environment for new patient admissions including cleaning of the bed frames and mattresses, changing curtains

Assist with the service of patient meals and the collection of meal trays, wash and dry patient water jugs and glasses and to also refill such containers

PERSON SPEC:

Food and Hygiene certified

At least an NVQ Level in Cleaning or equivalent

Very well present and well mannered

Punctual and good time keeping/ management

Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months is a MUST!
