Distribution Shipper

Salary: £26,000 per year

Direct Response Employment services are delighted to be working with our national client in the recruitment of a Shipper to joint he team initially on a temporary basis.

As a Shipper you will be responsible for providing a professional distribution service to customers, optimisation of plant network and ensure most cost effective use of the vehicle fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

* Taking of customer orders.

* Translating orders into a distribution schedule that account for the needs of the customer.

* Making decisions on optimum fleet numbers, transfers and requirements for hired trucks.

* Assist with the day to day management of drivers.

* Maintain real time progress of scheduled orders – allowing you to identify potential problems and action these.

* Communicate with customers, giving updates on progress of deliveries.

* Attendance and time keeping of driver hours.

We are looking for a candidate who has previous experience working within a similar role either transport, shipping, distribution and logistics., organsied with the ability to multi task and work within a busy environment.
