Our Client are the worlds leading industrial mortar manufacturer, using advanced formulation technology which enables them to offer a complete range of solutions, meeting the highest technical requirements. They are currently looking to recruit a Development Chemist to carry out new product development focusing primarily on synthetic products & paints and colour formulations, improving existing products, designing cost efficient formulations along with monitoring quality and performance of all manufactured products. Planning and completing R & D projects along with other associated work programmes, you will propose and agree specifications to meet the quality requirements for new and existing products.
Within this role you will work closely with the R&D and Quality Manager, providing regular progress reports and ensuring knowledge of material safety data on raw materials is kept up to date at all times. Providing assistance and supervision to the Sample Technicians, you will make the sample room to ensure all synthetic samples are dispatched within agreed lead times, whilst supporting the QC department in problem solving activities. Candidates will be required to react at short notice to product problems, whether raw material, process or site issues and any problems associated to any of their manufacturing plants.
Candidates will hold a degree in Chemistry and will have proven experience within a Laboratory / Development role. With knowledge of formulation methodology, costing and raw materials, you will have a critical and analytical approach with the aptitude to communication at all levels. With knowledge of manufacturing process and the ability to work in a cross functional role, you will ideally have experience of paint formulation or colour matching.
