Design Engineer (Mechanical)

Salary: £42,000 – £54,000 per year

We are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer for a busy Manufacturing/engineering client in the Aberdeen area. This is a permanent position and will be a 39 hour week.

Applicants must have experience in a similar environment.

The main purpose of the role will be to design and engineer new products and equipment. Complete design packages

Main duties will include but not be limited to:-

Equipment Design 

Meeting customers’ requirements 

Working to the requested standards and specifications 

Overseeing equipment being built 

Assessing designs to safety and legislative requirements 

 Producing 3d models

Producing manufacturing drawings 

Producing parts lists 

Maintaining Parts Database 

Issuing parts to the Works Orders 

Overseeing equipment being built

Producing associated package documentation 

Qualifications

Essential: 

Higher National Certificate 

Preferred: 

Higher National Diploma 

Experience

Essential: 

Strong Mechanical interests, Academic or practical.

It would be highly advantageous to have a proven mechanical manufacturing background in similar products

Skills/Knowledge

Essential: 

Good communication skills both written and verbal

Must have demonstrated basic keyboard and/or computer skills. 

Must be able to demonstrate best practice first time every time. 

Experience with computer drawing packages 

It would be highly advantageous to be:-

 Competent within Microsoft software packages.

2D AutoCAD and 3D Inventor drawing packages
