To manage all aspects in the absence of the Registered manager for the Extra Care scheme and to maintain and standardise all systems and processes to ensure legislatory and contractual compliance as required.
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Accountable to the Registered Manager.
2. Responsibility for staff working in the Extra Care Scheme.
3. To ensure that a reabling, outcome-focused ethos operates and is maintained throughout all aspects of the running of the scheme
4. To provide ‘hands on’ care and support as and when required
5. To provide housing related support and advice to customers within the scheme
6. To ensure successful operation of quality control systems.
7. Participate in the delivery of the On Call rota of the service
8. To ensure that all computerised and manual records are up to date.
9. Implementation of complaints procedure, when required.
10. Ongoing liaison with all clients, customers / relatives, social workers and any other external agencies.
11. Providing a range of operational, managerial and administrative support for the development and ongoing existence of the Residents’ Committee at the scheme.
12. Preparation of regular management and contractual reports.
13. Ensure training needs of all staff working in the scheme are met effectively.
14. To work within agreed budgets and financial processes.
15. Developing and maintaining relationships with external agencies as well as supervising and appraising staff where required.
16. To undertake regular risk assessments, staff spot checks, reviews and appraisals
17. To attend relevant courses as and when required
18. Ensuring information is up to date, maintain an accident record and provide practical and emotional support to all staff and customers where required.
JOB SPECIFICATION Essential
1. Management experience of service provision in the care profession
2. Car owner/driver
3. Experience of staff and contractor management
4. Extra Care/ Supported Housing experience
5. To have or be working towards a QCF level 5 award in Health and Social Care or equivalent
Desirable
Experience of management in domiciliary care or residential settings and/ or appropriate skills /qualifications.
