Delivery Driver (Multi-Drop) / Store Person

Based in our Swindon Depot located in the Cheney Manor area of Swindon (SN2), we are looking to recruit a number of full time and permanent multi-drop Driver / Delivery Driver / Transit Van Driver / Store Persons to join our team. Working Monday to Friday, 40hrs/wk (typical working hours ranging in shifts between 06:30am to 17:30), we are looking to recruit experienced multi-drop long wheel base transit van drivers / Store Persons. Typical duties will involve delivering and collecting automotive batteries directly into and from customers premises. Please note, the role may also involve some warehouse work. Experience of using a handheld PDA is of advantage, as is the ability to manually handle a heavy product. Individuals with a 7.5T licence are also required, but this is not essential. The individual must be happy, helpful and smiley in character and possesses and ‘Can do approach’ to their work and personal life in order for the individual to provide an consummate level of service to our customers. The distribution hub is made up of a team of Managers and 14 colleagues (Drivers and Store Persons) and picks / delivers approximately 200,000 units PA from its 11,000 square foot site.

The role is focused on dealing with a heavy product which requires a degree manual handling and FLT operation (however FLT training can be given).

Essential experience of:
– Working as a multi-drop van driver or Store Person
– Happy and outgoing in attitude
– A genuinely friendly individual who wants to get to know the customer better
– Customer focussed, to ensure that each delivery is made consistently well with a positive impact
– Ability to handle a heavy product
– Full Driving licence
– Neat and tidy, able to portray a professional appearance at work
– Some Microsoft Office skills (such as Excel, Word and Outlook)

Desirable experienced in:
– Use of a PDA
– Driving a long wheel base transit van
– 7.5T licence with driving experience (may be of use)
– Time Management and Organisational skills
