A London based global book publisher is looking for a very strong Data WareHouse (DWH) Data Modeller with ETL Developing foundations.

Position Summary:
The DWH Modeller owns, updates and enhances the organisations DWH design, data model and architecture to meet the current and future reporting and analysis requirements. They act as the primary contact for both BI development teams and business BI champions to provide detailed understanding of the DWH solution, thus enable the organisation to get the most value from its BI platform.
As a key member of the BI team the DWH Modeller will build relationships within technology and business during project delivery to ensure reporting requirements are delivered successfully from the DWH.
The DWH Modeller will work alongside project and BI programme teams ensuring solutions deliver to business requirements, and business process change is appropriately modelled and managed.
This is a hands on role where developing ETL routines will be required in addition to DWH design activities.
This is a 12 mo FTC role
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
BI Programme specific deliverables and activities
Own, update and enhance the DWH design, data model (logical and physical) and architecture to meet BI programme needs
Translate and integrate reporting requirements into the data model by working closely with BI developers and Analysts
Produce DWH and ETL functional and technical specifications for development within BI Programme of work
Lead workshops to determine changes or updates required to the DWH with project leads.
Develop DWH and ETL routines during build and test cycles
Provide leadership and guidance on good practice DWH development and design
Develop DWH standards and governance processes and ensures development adheres to these
Peer review design and development of the BI team
Work with developers in the technical design of the BI solution
Support testing and defect resolution during project activities
Support training and change management activities during project activities
Develops documentation to support promotion of work between environments
Adhere to internal standards of documentation (be they departmental or project specific)
Work with Technology teams and other service providers to define and evaluate solution proposals for viability and appropriateness.
Production of documentation to support service transition
Support for solution delivery, providing project management support and quality assurance
Provide 3rd level support for incident and problem management
General:
Give guidance of overall DWH and BI landscape and provide recommendations
Lead and drive continuous improvement of the DWH and BI platform
Keep abreast of current technology and trends that may be of use/benefit

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Minimum 5 + years working as a DWH Data Modeller and ETL developer who has exposure in leading a group of BI developers
Strong Datamodelling skills in a large scale complex environment
Proven track record of leading design, build and support of DWH and data marts which are robust and scalable
Strong ETL and DWH developer, utilising Microsoft SSIS and SSAS development skills required
Solid experience utilising ER Studio to design data models
Exposure to SAP BW and Netezza would be highly regarded
Experience with SAP Business Objects and SAP ERP Modules beneficial
A range of technical project experience, ideally with experience of delivering BI solutions for media and publishing organisations
Understanding and experience of project management methodologies and frameworks and change management processes
Knowledge of common methodologies for technical/software development projects such as Agile Scrum or Waterfall
