Data Comms Installation Technician

Experienced Data Comms Installation Technician ( 4 Technicians required ) PERM POSITIONS
Liverpool – Halewood
JIB National Standard Rates: Minimum 37.5 hours a week
DATA OPERATIVES:
Experienced Data Comms installation technicians with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, this experience should ideally include but not be limited to Construction, Automotive Production Facilities and Industrial environments.

1. Carry out the installation process, maintenance and inspection/testing in accordance with site safety plans, regulations, drawings and instructions.
2. Perform the work in accordance with good professional practice
3. Work in a safe manner at all times ensuring own safety and that of colleagues on site
4. Use of correct equipment and PPE at all times

Skilled in the following areas:

Optical fibre, Single-mode and Multimode termination techniques (i.e. fusion splicing, hot melt) testing, fault finding and ideally experience in blown fibre installations. The following would also be an advantage: Copper, Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, Cat7 with testing, termination and preferably some leadership skills.

• City & Guilds level 2 or equivalent in fibre ‘multi & single mode’.
• City & Guilds level 2 or equivalent in Data Comms, structured cabling.
• Approved in Krone, Brand-Rex (this is the most important) Molex, Excel.
• Minimum of one years’ experience as a team leader.
• Able to fault find copper & fibre
• Industrial containment experience
• Warranty testing, Fluke etc
• Completing patching schedules
• Complete minor site surveys
• Working at Heights and have relevant certificates
• Working in confined spaces
• Working around Plant and Machinery
• Flexible working Hours/Weekends/Nights
• Working with all forms of containment essential – Galvanised Trunking/Conduits

About you:
will be an experienced Data-comms cabling engineer with a proven track record of working on varied customer facing projects. You should have a full driving license with own transport and have your own basic tools (Specialised tools will be provided by the company).

The candidate MUST have experience in an automotive production facility!

You must have the following valid accreditations:

• CSCS or ECS Card (not Labourer) with minimum validity of 12 months.
• IPAF Licence
• PASMA

The successful candidates will have this training provided but this is a bonus if you already hold these tickets.

Supervision Duties

1. Reports to the Senior/Contract Engineer.
2. Ensures that work is in line with approved plans and compliant with the contract.
3. Responsible for site installation and maintenance activities, the control of materials and inspection and testing.
4. Supervision of operatives and subcontractors under your responsibility.
5. Maintaining and updating the site folder and inspection/test records.
6. Ensures the safety of all personnel on site.
7. Supports the Contract Engineer in their role.
8. Ensure that all personnel understand and conform with quality procedures.
