Job Role
A new opportunity has arisen within Seetec for a Data Analyst to join our Analytics and Business Intelligence team.
Reporting to the Head of Group Analytics & Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for interrogating, analysing and interpreting data to transform it into performance and forecasting information.
Working closely with colleagues; you will provide support and guidance to them in turning this business critical information into insight that will be used to make sound business decisions, using modern data analytics tools, methods and approaches.
The successful candidate will need to have at least 3 years’ experience of working as part of a data analyst team in either an analytical or development capacity. You will also need to have strong technical knowledge in ‘data mining’ and reporting tools and methodologies; with the ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate this into a data driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the wider business to understand the business environment and business requirements at an in depth level in order to support the development, testing and implementation of DA solutions that achieve business objectives.
* Provide in depth analysis of data using ‘data mining’, predictive modelling and profiling techniques and to act as a DA expert.
* Acquire data from primary and/or secondary sources and interpret complex data sets and analyse results using statistical techniques and provide bespoke and/or on-going reports and information outputs focused on potential future scenarios.
* Conduct analysis to evaluate the potential success and effectiveness of undertaking key work programmes, new contracts and/or business initiatives to achieve business growth/improvements.
* Produce and distribute forecasting information to relevant teams across the Seetec Group.
* Measure results of DA interventions proactively and apply any learning.
* Lead key projects as a subject matter expert (SME) and work towards achieving an Analytics and Business Intelligence Team that is seen as the ‘industry best’.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* 3 years working as part of a DA team in either an analytical and development capacity
* 2 ‘A’ levels in related subjects e.g. statistics, mathematics, computer science and/or IT
* Proven experience of researching, interpreting and translating ‘big data’ and using databases or data warehouses (SQL) and/or report design/development to support business decision making
* Deep familiarity with Business Intelligence Tools, preferably Qlikview. Expertise with other BI tools: Cognos, Business Objects etc would be acceptable
* Experience of technologies, trends, issues, standards and methodologies used to successfully undertake DA processes
Desirable:
* Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field e.g. data mining, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, computer science or other quantitate discipline
* Experienced in delivering business solutions and presentations to senior management
* Strong SQL programming skills accompanied with Advanced Excel Skills
* Experienced at working in a similar role in a DA team in a related industry/business
* Practical knowledge of complex data systems and the ability to research, analyse and interrogate ‘big data’ sets, to build reports and use data visualisation techniques where applicable
* Member of relevant professional body

Salary £41,310 – £48,600per annum.
