Our client is a trusted partner of the UK’s Ministry of Defence, and they are currently looking for an experienced Customs Officer. The selected candidate will provide customs entries for imports and exports across all UK manufacturing sites. This position is part of an in-house Customs team, where the candidate can develop specialist customs skills and knowledge within the team and logistics. It is a full-time on-site role with the potential for contract extension or permanent employment.

What we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate must display experience, knowledge of the customs-related environment, and a good understanding of current and emerging policies. A relevant vocational qualification or equivalent experience is required. The candidate should understand internal and external customer requirements, have customs knowledge, and have excellent communication skills. Proficiency in relevant support tools and systems, including IT, is essential, as is the ability to analyse, report and problem-solve. The candidate should be able to work to deadlines, multi-task, and prioritise effectively.

  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives.
  • Customs clearance and shipment management are essential for successful SC&Q project implementation and business objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit measurement systems to ensure the effective use of critical processes.
  • Our proactive Customs services include Customs entries, IPR
  • Organise and prioritise one’s workload to complete customs-related tasks and facilitate product shipment.
  • Keep up to date in area(s) of expertise so that MBDA is aware of and able to take account or advantage of new developments.
  • As the main point of contact for quality matters, resolve a full range of problems and maintain awareness of priorities and objectives with customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Support and participate in appropriate employee communication processes.
  • Recommend and manage changes and participate in developing processes in response to agreed UK/Group objectives
  • Respond to requests from internal customers for advice to facilitate the resolution of issues and problems.
