Customer Development Consultant

The Customer Development Specialist is responsible for prospecting, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities in tandem with the Consultant Salesman and for maintaining customer and project information in the CRM system.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

New Business / Project Development – Assist Account Executives in meeting or exceeding their annual sales quota by: Assisting with project development and helping to identify key decision makers, Developing and cultivating relationships with Architects, End Users and Contractors, Scheduling sales appointments for Account Executives, Conducting ongoing research of relevant and viable projects from various sources and Pre-qualifying applicable leads for entry into sales funnel.

Weekly Coordination Calls – Coordinate and execute weekly telephone conferences with:

Account Executives to: Prioritize and assign weekly activities, Discuss opportunities identified from research to determine which projects need to be developed in sales funnel, Review and assign activities for customers without projects and prioritize customers with projects and Strategize and execute sales campaigns.

CRM / SAP – Work extensively with CRM / SAP sales and distribution modules for: Customer research and identifying new sales opportunities, New account setup, Inputting and maintaining all relevant project related and customer information and Creating and distributing formal quotes for customers.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience in an inside sales environment
2. Ability to interact with all levels of management, staff and employees
3. Proficient with Microsoft Office
4. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
5. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi task required
6. Ability to prioritize projects and activities
7. Experience with SAP or CRM database required
8. Some travel required
9. Associates Degree or equivalent require
