Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

Salary: £26,000 – £31,200 per year

Choice Teachers work in Partnership with various Secondary Schools located in Herts, Beds and Bucks to provide cover supervisors on a day to day basis. If you have experience in working with children and are interested in working in Secondary Schools within Welwyn Garden City we would be very keen to hear from you!

The Role:
As a Cover Supervisor you will provide whole class supervision, replacing the absent class teacher who has planned and set the work for the lessons. Throughout the day you may cover various subjects and year groups, however the work in each class will be pre set so you are not expected to teach the subject.
You will be expected to:
*manage the behaviour of students in each class following the schools’ behaviour policy
* engage with the students and build a rapport with each class
*think on your feet/use common sense when a student has a question about their work.
*be pro-active in providing support to students who require additional assistance.
*provide feedback to the School Cover manager with any notable incidents in any lesson

Dates required:
We have bookings during term time.

The pay:
£26,000 – £31,200 per year depending on experience and qualification.

Experience
This role is suitable for someone who has previous experience supporting young people and vulnerable adults with learning activities (i.e. Sports Coach, Summer Camp leader, youth worker etc.). The role would also suit Graduates who are potentially interested in completing a PGCE and would like to experience working in the classroom.
