Contract: Full Time, Permanent basis (Hybrid Work, 3 days can be worked from home)

Job Overview

We have a new opportunity for a full time Course Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Cambridge.  CEG also has an office in Newcastle, Northumberland and applications from candidates who can work from the Newcastle office will also be considered.

Course Officers (COs) form a vital part of the delivery team for our University partners. You will join a team of two other COs to assist in the smooth running of the partnerships, supporting the Director of Academic Delivery. It is a predominantly administrative role requiring close attention to detail, a methodical approach and excellent written communications skills. You will also need to be confident in dealing with academics from around the world daily, as well as building strong relationships with various functions within our university partners.

Working in a Course Officer Team you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, all with a shared focus on improving the experience and successful outcomes of our postgraduate learners.  You will have the opportunity to grow personally whilst actively supporting significant operational functions of our university partnerships.

Key responsibilities

  • Liaise with the People Team to place job vacancies, organise tutor/supervisor interviews and assist with the appointment of tutors/supervisors.
  • Ensure all tutors/supervisors successfully complete the VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) induction module, organising further support as required.
  • Assist with the onboarding of University module leaders.
  • Build and maintain any online training within the VLE for both tutors/supervisors and module leaders.
  • Work with the partner University’s IT team to set up staff usernames and email accounts for tutors/supervisors before they are granted access to the VLE and other institutional platforms.
  • Support CEGD management and university academic staff in monitoring tutor engagement and activity on the VLE.
  • Raise purchase orders, track incoming tutor/supervisor invoices and deal with any tutor-related administrative duties.
  • Lead on analysis of student feedback, prepare end of module course reports and contribute to annual reporting.

 

Key person specification

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent work-based learning.
  • Experience of working in a higher education environment (desirable) or relevant professional organisation.
  • Experience of working in a student- or customer-facing role (desirable).
  • Demonstrable experience of working on projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of planning, attending and contributing to meetings.
  • Experience of report writing, including working with data.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Highly organised with a good eye for detail.
  • Competence in use of Microsoft Office package.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good level of digital literacy with ability to quickly work with and understand new digital platforms.
  • Ability to be proactive and work on own initiative.
