Cost Accountant / Management Accountant

Due to recent expansion a CIMA/ACCA studier, ideally from the manufacturing/engineering sector, is required for a client based in Teddington, Middlesex.

The successful Cost/Management accountant will have at least 3 years experience within a similar role and will suit an accounting professional who is now looking to gain further experience. A good understanding of costing and other manufacturing accounting principles is essential.

The duties of the role follow and proven capability in these skills are required:-

Interrogate and manage data
Analysis and control of cost centres, analysing spend for materials and non materials against KPI’s
Production of reports on spend and cost
Ad hoc analysis, queries and projects
Assist in the production of management accounts and associated variance analysis
Cost management for all purchase and work orders
Manage the MRP/ERP system cost data, data control and reconciliation
Develop, implement and maintain effective cost control procedures and costing processes including variance analysis
Deliver and improve standard and latest costing models and report variances
Analyse, variance reporting on materials, labour and overheads expenditure
Implement and maintain robust stock management practices
Analysis of large amounts of information from a number of different sources
Analyse, interpret and investigate dataThe successful candidate will be required to attend training to maintain professional skills. Excellent communication skills, written and oral are essential as is a professional manner and presentation. Strong IT skills, specifically Excel, ERP, highly organised, influencing skills and the ability to work in a team.
