Control Room Operator

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Control Room Operator to be based at their office in Feltham.The Client is an industry leader in risk management and secure logistics.With 150 years of experience,more than 53900 staff members worldwide it offers secure transport and associated security services in more than 110 countries through 900 networked offices.

Role Reports to Operations & Planning Manager
Purpose: Monitor and control CCTV. To organise day-to-day flights with the resource given

Principal Accountabilities
•Control of access to, and egress from Company’s UK branches to ensure only authorized employees and visitors obtain entry into their buildings
•Releasing of appropriate vehicle security codes to Driver / Custodians as and when required
•Establish and confirm customer ETAs through monitoring of vehicle communications
•Confirm the authenticity of any calls for Mayday by following Company Mayday protocols and acting accordingly.
•Constant monitoring of all UK branch cameras and alarm systems; responding appropriately to alarm activations and / or security concerns.
•Answering the branch switchboard, dealing with internal and external queries and transferring calls where appropriate
•Receipt and action of airline service requests. Monitor flights and shipments to accurately identify the type of vehicle and / or airside resources required to fulfill a customer request for pick up / delivery, ensuring airside resources are allocated accordingly and in line with contractual obligations
•Liaise with the on-shift Service Delivery Manager (SDM) to assist with the allocation of flights to armored vehicles and dog vans
•Accurate and timely data entry of the Flight List on Excel to ensure accurate and timely customer billing
•Assist with vault opening and closing procedures
•Crisis and Incident response to assist with suspected security issues

Context
The Controller role is responsible for controlling the security and CCTV of all the UK locations of the Orgnisation, further to this they have to organise the daily worksheet to ensure all daily flights are covered
The control room is manned 24 hours/7 days per week by two Controllers. Each controller works a shift pattern of 4 days on and 4 days off
The work performed in this role has an element of structure with regard to routine responsibilities, however operating conditions create a dynamic environment that require the Controllers to be highly reactive to challenges that arise.
The Control Room is an enclosed and segregated area to allow for increased focus, as the team is highly engaged with real-time operational activity. Troubleshooting for operational issues, coupled with short lead times to complete jobs, can create a high pressure environment.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Previous experience working within a busy 24/7 control room environment
Knowledge of emergency evacuation / control procedures
Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Office
Desirable

Previous experience of working within the security industry
