Contract Junior Test Technician

Our client, a leading health care specialist, is looking for a Contract Junior Test Technician to join their team on a contract basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally respected company and work in a friendly, supportive team.

The Contract Junior Test Technician will be responsible for:

-Support laboratory simulator testing
-Assist with preparation of Health and safety documentation and support internal HS+E laboratory initiatives
-Assist with complaints investigations, by reviewing components by microscopy an investigating complaint components
-Write technical reports and report data on a regular basis in order to determine cause of failure
-Develop relatively straight forward test protocols based on ISO/ASTM standards or basic fundamental principles (materials/mechanical scenarios) for new product development portfolio
-Produce work plans for own test responsibilities and contribute to the strategic planning process as required
-Utilise a range of complex test equipment including pneumatic, servo-hydraulic test machines, wear simulators etc
-Devise test programmes under guidance and supervision to provide functional tests to mimic in vivo scenarios
-Contribute to product validations and requirement plans

The Contract Junior Test Technician is for 12 months with the strong possibility of extension. The rate offered is £14.4 – £18 per hour, depending on experience. The role is based in Leeds.
Requirements:

-An understanding/appreciation of COSHH and laboratory HS+E requirements
-Understanding of basic mechanical principles
-Willingness to work hard and not object to repetitive tasks
-Confident enough to work alone and within a team, however awareness to ask for assistance if necessary
-Degree or A Level qualification with a practical approach
-Disciplines such as forensic science, materials engineering or science /metallurgy, biomechanical engineering, mechanical engineering, potentially physics and or chemistry or a related engineering qualification
