Complaints Officer

Salary: £27.6 per hour

Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Compliants Officer for Barnet Council.

Main duties:

Support the complaints & Information Manager in the administration of complaints, member enquiries, Freedom of Information and Data Protection processes across Adults and Health
Take a proactive role in ensuring complaints, member enquiries, FOIs and formal requests for personal data are responded to appropriately within statutory timeframes
Support the monitoring and resolution of complaints in line with Adults & Health and statutory complaints policies
Maintain robust systems for recording and monitoring compliments, complaints and Member Enquiries
Coordinate and monitor Freedom of Information requests, Subject Access Requests, and other requests for the disclosure of personal information under the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation
Act as the liaison with other Link Officer/s and the corporate Information Management team where appropriate. Carry out file redaction duties as requested
Support the management and monitoring of the directorates Subject Access Request (SAR) process and other requests made under the Data Protection Act, supporting senior managers other Link Officers and/or partners where appropriate.
Support the updating of performance management systems and performance indicators to regularly monitor and assess performance.
Provide regular management updates on complaints, compliments and member enquiries, FOIs and SARs.
Be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely recording of complaints and information management data and ensuring that acknowledgements and responses are made as appropriate and within timescales.
Act as a point of communication with complainants, service users and requestors of personal data over the telephone and in writing; providing an excellent level of customer service remaining customer focused, sensitive and impartial.
Ensure that the responsibility of safeguarding adults at risk is a fundamental element of this job and that the principles are embedded in all procedures and practices
