What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable and happy life.
You will be providing the following support to people in their own homes & out in the community:
Personal care – helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
Supporting people to live happy and fulfilling lives– budget management, paying bills, house work, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting people with learning disabilities to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and independence.
Flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts to include; days, evenings, and weekends. Shifts can be discuss in more detail at interview stage.
This role does require you have access to your own car and hold business insurance on that vehicle as you will be transporting the people we support out and about each day.
Our Support Workers get involved in daily activities such as bowling, food shopping, walking, going to the gym, arts and crafts, woodwork related tasks and ensuring that people we support get to voluntary roles in the community safely.
Our Support Workers need to have a calm nature, be encouraging and above all you need to be patient. You will always be looking out for the safety of the people we support, when out and about, this is essential.
