Salary: £26,000 per year

Community Project Worker / Service Development
Craven District, North Yorkshire
£26,000 per year (pro rata)
8 month fixed term contract – 24 hours per week

Our client provides a range of supported housing, day support and training services in a manner that promotes self-esteem, respect and independence to people disadvantaged by housing and social circumstances, discrimination, financial exclusion and other forms of social need.
They are currently seeking a Project Worker to join, develop and deliver one of their projects in the Craven District of North Yorkshire including Skipton, Ingleton, Gargrave, Embsay as well as more remote / rural villages within the district. The project has been funded by North Yorkshire County Council’s Health & Adult Services, in partnership with Airedale, Wharfedale & Craven CCG. The project is a café which provides a range of daytime activities in a variety of accessible locations to vulnerable people, particularly those who are suffering emotional and/or mental health problems, and/or who are isolated.
The main purpose of this role is to design, develop and deliver the project, in the Craven District, providing a range of daytime activities, low-level advocacy, informal learning as well as educational and preventative drop in sessions through consultation with the community and local partner agencies.
The Project Worker will work with the Manager on the development of the project, and will be responsible for its delivery, along with provision of one-to-one support as required by those accessing the service. A team of volunteers will also be recruited, and the Project Worker will work alongside these volunteers.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with vulnerable people in a community setting, and of leading group activity. It is essential that you have a good understanding of the range of services available to vulnerable people, and a proven track record of partnership working. You will have the ability work on your own initiative, and to take the lead on the development and delivery of the project to ensure the outcomes, set by their funders, are achieved. You will be required to travel to different locations as part of this role so a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential.

The closing date for this role is Monday 13 October at 5pm.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 23 October at their Head Office in Bradford.

This role has been funded through the NYCC Innovation Fund.
