Salary: £26,000 – £27,600 per year
A high growth SME based in Cambridge, is recruiting an additional CNC operator/setter to be part of their successful growing team. This would suit someone who has completed a machining qualification/degree qualified/apprentice trained, exposure in CNC Milling or similiar calibre.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you will have some machine understanding or exposure in setting/operating CNC machinery in a safe and competent manner, working as a team player ensuring production schedules is met.
You will ideally have exposure of 3 axis setter/operator with experience of 4 axis horizontal mills using Fanuc controls is an advantage, with a good understanding of tooling management and technology, however full trianing will be provided.
Exposure working on Star sliding head lathes or CMM, Epicore or similar ERP systems would be an advantage and we would be keen to hear from you.
Key responsibilities include:
* Set and operate the CNC lathes or mills which you are assigned to, with the minimum of supervision
* Run production jobs on the CNC machines and to carry out all inspection duties required to ensure that parts are manufactured correctly to drawing and meet tight deadlines
* Ensure the ERP system and all paperwork is completed correctly and on time
* Complete all associated documentation and ensure compliance with ISO9001 procedures
* Ensure that any machine issues are reported to the relevant Team Supervisor or Machine Shop Manager
* Follow the company’s philosophy of lean manufacturing and look at ways to make improvements and then bring these to the attention of your team supervisor.
* Be responsible for keeping the areas you are working in and around, clean and tidy
* Ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and work in a safe and competent manner
* Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by a line manager or a Director
Role is a 39 hour week, Monday to Friday on an alternating 2 shift basis working 6am to 2.30pm or 1.30pm to 10pm (Monday to Thursday) or 12.30pm to 8pm on Friday.
