What are we looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic and highly driven CNC Machinist to join our Production Team in Nottingham. You will demonstrate a sound knowledge of CNC Machining with experience of working in an industrial engineering environment.

What are we looking for?

A candidate who is / has:

  • a strong technical / experienced background with a minimum of 2 years in CNC operation / fabrication using a hydraulic press, grinder, miller laser cutter and CMM measuring machines.
  • Experience with CNC lasers and press brakes is a bonus but not essential.
  • demonstrable experience using industrial machinery in an engineering environment.
  • able to set and load programs and CNC code and run a variety of CNC controller (e.g. FANUC, Heidenhain and Siemens) and fit the correct tools to active machines.
  • CNC machinist qualifications and / or demonstrable time-served experience.
  • able to effectively read mechanical drawings and demonstrate working knowledge of G coding, managing tooling, and optimising speeds and feeds.
  • able to routinely maintain the CNC machines and devise procedures to ensure continuous uptime.
  • able to perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.
  • able to set tolerance levels and cutting speeds.
  • able to translate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for production.
  • able to work with CAD / CAM engineers to assist new product development.
  • able to accurately measure outputs using micrometers and CMM for new production runs.
  • inspect workflows to ensure that robust technical and quality standards are adhered to.
  • devise work plans to efficiently carry out daily machining.
  • able to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication.
  • able to organise and prioritise work effectively.
  • able to take instructions with positivity and a can-do attitude.
  • the ability to encourage others, demonstrate energy and drive to grow with the company.
  • flexible and ready to undertake a variety of different and related tasks.
  • pride in good housekeeping and organisation.
  • willing to support a culture of continuous improvement, identify best practices and share knowledge and skills with other members of the Production Team.
  • capable of communicating potential issues and providing solutions / rationalising corrective actions / procedures.
  • willing to work overtime (at overtime rates) if required to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • able to currently work in UK and within a commutable distance to our Nottingham factory.

We believe it is important to be transparent with our salary offer, being £26,000 – £28,000 per annum. Negotiable based on experience.

Full time in the Nottingham factory. Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4:30pm. Friday 7:30-11am.
