CNC Machinist – Expiring soon

An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machinist to join us at Express Engineering, an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East of England. With nearly 50 years of experience in machining and assembling critical subsea components and systems, we are a market leader in the specialised products we produce.

We are looking for a number of CNC Machinists to join our production team and currently have vacancies for the following skill sets:

• CNC Turner with Fanuc or Mazatrol setting/programming experience
• CNC Horizontal Millers with Fanuc setting/programming experience
• CNC Vertical millers with Hass or Fanuc setting/programming experience
• 5 Axis Millers with Heidenhain setting experience

To be successful in this CNC Machinist role at Express Engineering, you will:

• Be time served CNC machinist with turning and or milling experience.
• Experience of working in a CNC Machining / Industrial Engineering environment
• Have experience of programming and operating machines to produce product of the required quality standards and specification.
• Have an understanding of tolerances, geometric tolerances, and surface finishes
• Have the ability to use measuring equipment such as micrometres, verniers, plug gauges, screw plugs and ring gauges
• Be familiar with a wide range of materials including Non-Ferrous, Aluminium, Alloy Steel, Stainless Steel, Inconel, and Titanium
• Have a can-do attitude and work well with others in a team environment
• Be flexible in your approach – willing to work overtime when required to suit customer requirements
• Be willing to increase your knowledge and train on other machining processes
• Be willing to pass on your knowledge and train others

As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.

You will be working over a number of shift patterns including night shift which attracts an allowance of 29.25% of basic rate per hour. Overtime is paid at time and half.
