About the opportunity

Stoneswood precision Components is currently recruiting a CMM Operator and Inspector based at our bespoke machining facility in Dukinfield. You will be an integral part of a small team ensuring processes run smoothly from creating CMM programmes through to completion of 1st Article Activities.

The ideal candidate will be fully trained in the use of CMM equipment and have significant experience, ideally PC DMIS and/or Modus. Experience of using other software, Cameo etc. would be considered. They would be expected to be trained to City and Guilds level in engineering competencies and/or have significant experience. Ideally, they will be time served with a recognised engineering apprenticeship.

Key tasks will include

  • Inspecting components using a variety of GD&T equipment.
  • Creating CMM programmes.
  • Carrying out goods inwards and final inspection.
  • Supporting all QA activities – PPAP, APQP and 1st article activities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience of PC DMIS & Modus software including programming would be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with AS9100 standard systems and procedures.
  • Industry recognised qualifications in Quality Assurance Management.
  • Aerospace experience.
  • Ability to interrogate engineering drawings.
  • Appreciation of CNC machining principles.
  • Lean manufacturing training/experience would be beneficial.

Experience

  • Experience within a QA function, training can be provided where necessary.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt.
