Join Age UK’s Digital & Technology division as Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, where your expertise will be pivotal in shaping and maintaining our IT infrastructure.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing, deploying, and optimizing our IT systems, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and aligned with organisational objectives. This is a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our infrastructure, enhancing processes and adapting to the everchanging tech landscape.

With access to the latest Microsoft tools and services to meet Age UK’s technology objectives, you’ll have the opportunity to stay up to date on the latest technologies and best practices in the field, and to use your knowledge and experience to make recommendations for improving our infrastructure.

Digital & Technology is a multidisciplinary team – spanning security, data, cloud services and applications – giving you an opportunity to learn and contribute across all these domains.

This fulfilling role is offered on a Hybrid / London contract and will include travel as required to our modern co-working hub in the City of London.

Must haves:

  • Demonstrated capability to work autonomously and make independent decisions, as well as effectively collaborate with cross functional teams across various domains.
  • In-depth experience with Microsoft 365 platform, Microsoft Azure, and Windows Server (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022).
  • Proven experience deploying and managing IaaS and PaaS workloads on Microsoft Azure.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory Domain Services and Microsoft Entra administration.
  • Experience in PowerShell scripting and process automation.
  • Understanding of IaaS/PaaS/SaaS approaches to infrastructure and their trade-offs.
  • Familiarity with observability tools and automated response systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the product lifecycle, from inception to decommissioning.
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles, combined with proven experience in effectively addressing vulnerabilities to safeguard organizational data and systems.
  • Knowledge of common networking concepts and protocols.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications.

Great to haves:

  • Industry-recognised certifications.
  • Proven scripting or programming experience.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.

Additional Information

Occasional travel is required to other Age UK sites to enable performance of the duties and responsibilities and for the purposes of maintaining and updating professional skills and development of a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

Hybrid and remote working require that the candidate meet these additional requirements: Internet bandwidth: 40Mbps minimum, Internet connectivity: Wired / ADSL / Fibre, Stable and safe working environment.
