Class 2 Driver

Salary: £15.6 per hour

We are recruiting Class 2 drivers for our client who has been providing a high quality logistics and storage service throughout mainland UK, Northern Ireland and Europe since 1973.

A small, family owned company with big ideas, our client is always looking at new opportunities to expand without compromising on quality of service offered.

They are looking to expand their full-time driving team with the addition of a Class 2 Driver with hours of work including days, nights and weekends when the workload dictates.

• £13.00/hour
• Minimum 40 hours/week
• 20 days paid annual leave + 8 statutory holidays
• Tax-free meal allowance £2/day

Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

• Long-haul same-day deliveries/collections
• Multi-drop pallet network Class 2 work
• Loading and unloading of vehicles both at the depot and at customer sites
• Completion of customer paperwork and use of electronic signature capture device

Skills, Experience & Qualifications required;

• UK Driving Licence with no more than six penalty points
• Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
• Digi Tacho Card
• Physically active
• Excellent communication skills and have an appreciation of the importance of good customer service
• Accommodating to variable working hours- start and finish times, nights, nights away etc
• Good geographical knowledge of the local area and the UK road network
• Ideally based within 15-20 miles of the Ampthill Head Office and Depot
• Two years’ experience desirable, but not essential
• Understanding of working time directive and related legislation
