Our client, based in Partington, is seeking experienced Class 1 Drivers to join their expanding team working for a very important customer. This is a role which involves the delivery of goods to stores and distribution centres throughout the region.

This may involve trunking or Multi Drop depending on how the routes are planned. There may also be some manual handling so the correct technique is to be adopted. PPE is to be worn at all times.

Drivers are expected to make their deliveries in a timely fashion. Some of the trailers are 50ft long and the locations being delivered to will require the ability to manoeuvre in tight spaces so experience of doing so would be advantageous.

Depending on the shift offered, this is a role which may involve a number of nights out, often in succession. A premium will be paid for each night out.

Drivers should be polite and customer friendly at all times and MUST complete all given paperwork thoroughly to include the “driver’s daily report”. Drivers must also download their digi card daily (where possible) and remain in constant contact with the depot so that the end customer can be kept up to date with estimate delivery times.

Applicants must hold a current UK LGV C+E licence and will have recent LCV C+E driving experience. Licences must have no more than 6 penalty points. They should also have a low level of infringements.

Drivers with DD, DR or IN codes or bans will NOT be considered. ALL drivers must have a digital tachograph card and a full and current driver CPC card.

Working hours are yet to be confirmed, but it is likely that it will be on either a Ř on, 4 off”, Ś on 3 off” or any 5 out of 7 basis. Start times will vary to depending on customer requirements.

Please note that any person that is to be considered for a permanent role within this organisation will need to take and pass a drug & alcohol test prior to starting.
