Children’s Residential Support Worker / Merthyr Tydfil

Randstad Care are currently recruiting for senior residential child care workers to join a national child care and support provider based in Merthyr Tydfil. The salary scale starts at £26,000 p/a + £2500 p/a sleep in allowance. The Ideal candidate will have:

– 2 years + previous experience of working within a children’s residential setting

– Will have experience of leading a team

– Will be passionate about the care and support of young people with emotional behavioural problems

– Will hold a thorough understanding of the challenges that young people with EBD have

– QCF Level 3 – Children and Young People or NVQ Level 3 – Children and Young People

– Full driving licence which has been held for a minimum of 3 years

– Able to obtain a satisfactory enhanced DBS

Main responsibilities will include:

– Working on a day to day basis to support the young people within a safe environment

– Assisting the young people to develop their social and life skills

– Planning activities to both stimulate and challenge the young people

– Promoting young peoples independence

– Guiding young people to make the correct choices

– Accurate report writing and record keeping
