5 X 15 HOUR PER WEEK POSTS AVAILABLE (more or less hours can be negotiated)

Core Assets Children’s Services are looking to recruit five committed and enthusiastic part time Children and Family Support Workers to deliver fun and successful care services for disabled children and young people across Essex.
Service Aims:
To provide safe, fun and high quality services for disabled children, young people and their families including:
• Activity Clubs
• Support within the home
• Accompanying children and young people to community events and activities
• Helping parents to establish routines
• Day & Overnight care
We want to support disabled children and their families to increase independence, build confidence, improve well-being and most importantly to have fun!
THE CANDIDATE
We are looking for creative and highly motivated support workers who have:
• an understanding of the challenges faced by disabled children/young people and families
• at least 1 years’ experience of working directly with children/young people and their families requiring support (e.g. social care, youth work, education) both through individual or group work
• a sound knowledge and the application of safeguarding procedures
• experience of working with children and families with challenging behaviour in an effective and appropriate way
• an understanding and practical application of the use of IT and electronic communications, including the use of Microsoft Office
• a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle – the posts will require you to travel to difference venues which may include transporting children.
Working hours will be across the day time which will include early mornings, after school, evenings, weekends and school holidays. However you will have autonomy to organise your diary accordingly around children and family needs, therefore flexibility will be crucial.
