Chief Finance & Operations Lead

Salary: £180,000 – £240,000 per year

Dedicate Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with this small Academy Trust which specialises in creating Alternative Provision Free Schools, extending these services to mainstream schools, to ensure young adults have access to high quality education.

Now at the next stage of growth, the Trust is seeking a dynamic Finance Leader to support and execute the successful delivery of these plans.

Reporting to the Executive Head Teacher, you will have strategic and operational responsibility for the academy finances, estates and all related compliance. You will be responsible for all administration of the academy’s budget and funding formula, overseeing bank accounts, VAT accounting, and managing both private and public funds. You will ensure the academy’s financial management is in compliance with the ESFA Handbook and ensure transparency in the timely submissions of the annual returns required by the DfE.

This role will also have responsibility in managing the Estates function, liaising with the site team to ensure the safe and secure environment for staff and students is maintained.

You must be a fully qualified accountant of CIMA/ACCA/ACA or ICAEW (non qualified applicants will not be shortlisted) with experience of leading the finances within a regulated organisation. You will be an excellent communicator, who is able to relay complex financial information in simple terms to non finance staff with the natural gravitas to gain trust of your peers across the board.

Due to the requirements of this role, it is school based, full time and all year through.
