Chef and Kitchen Manager

Location: 20A Cambridge Science Hub, Bar Hill, CB23 8SQ
Salary: £26K – £28K per annum, DOE
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday 07.30am – 16.30pm (one hour break)

We are now recruiting for a Chef and Kitchen Manager to work independently organizing and providing healthy meals and snacks for our employees and visitors and managing the kitchen.

You will be provided with a fully equipped, brand new commercial kitchen and you will be responsible for planning and preparing food for 20 – 40 people on a daily basis.

In addition to this as our Chef and Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Planning a variety of tasty, healthy meal options for staff – Including vegetarian options, Considering any allergies and intolerances and minimising food waste
  • Preparing and serving healthy breakfast, lunch and snack options for staff
  • Preparing food for special events (client visits, corporate events etc.)
  • Adhering to relevant Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Standards
  • Purchasing necessary ingredients and consumables
  • Working within a budget
  • Cleaning and maintaining of the kitchen space and equipment, including coffee machine
  • Performing regular stocktakes
  • Completing relevant paperwork
  • Performing other duties as required related to running a kitchen

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Catering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • Experience managing a kitchen
  • Good communication and budgeting skills
  • Full training will be provided. You will be organized, decisive, efficient and practical. You will have an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
