Job Title:
CCTV Enforcement Officer, Parking Services
Essential knowledge:
* Knowledge of the London Local Authorities Act 1996 (as amended), London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003, Traffic Management Act 2004 and the application of Traffic Management Orders.
* Computer literate with a working knowledge of word processing packages.
* BTEC Qualification in CCTV Traffic Operation Level 2
Essential skills and abilities:
* Ability to communicate by telephone and in person, in a polite, precise and courteous manner.
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing sufficiently to fill in reports and compile witness statements.
* Ability to communicate effectively in situations requiring joint action and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, i.e. Council’s security staff and emergency services, including police, ambulance and fire brigade
Essential experience:
* Experience of enforcing legislation and regulations for traffic and parking contraventions or similar experience in a comparable environment.
* Experience of preparing evidential statements, penalty charge notices, or similar legal notices, and an understanding of the need for confidentiality and security of evidence.
* Experience of adopting new procedures and work patterns in a similar working environment.
* Experience of analysing and assessing situations, as well as producing detailed reports, recommendations and/or evidence.
Special conditions:
* Postholder is required to carry out the duties of the post whilst promoting the council’s equal opportunities and customer care policies and must be able to demonstrate an understanding of why these are important in employment and in the provision of services.
* Postholder must be prepared to work Sundays on a rota basis.
* Working hours are Monday to Saturday, between 6.30am and 11.59pm, however the postholder must be prepared to work on special occasions and to cover sickness or annual leave by way of shift changes as required. Payment will be made to reflect work pattern.
* Postholder must be prepared to work at any location prescribed by a supervising officer.
* Postholder must be willing to undertake training and be prepared to learn and familiarise themselves with all relevant legislation, regulations and equipment in the control room.
* Postholder must be willing to drive a vehicle
