CCTV Control Room Operator

We are recruiting for Control Room Operator to monitor CCTV activity for in Barnstaple.

Main objectives of the role:

To provide a professional, accurate, effective public CCTV monitoring service and to co-operate with outside agencies in reducing crime and the fear of crime in the area of the scheme coverage. To ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained is secure at all times by strict compliance with the employers CCTV operational procedures and code of practice

Responsibilities will include:

* To operate all equipment and cameras.
* To monitor and patrol via view-screens and take any remedial action.
* Communicate between departments, external agencies or the public in a professional manner.
* Record all events and actions in a clear, legible and accurate written format.
* Produce and maintain detailed records.
* Answer telephone calls, log basic details and re-direct in some cases.
* Maintain personal integrity and confidentiality of all information.
* Ensure equipment is fully functional, carry out checks and report any faults.
* Ensure the security of the control room and all equipment is maintained satisfactorily at all times.
* Undertake any other duties or tasks.

Skills, knowledge and experience:

* Good standard of education (GCSE level or equivalent).
* Must be familiar with the operation of CCTV Systems.
* Preferably should have an understanding of the law related to use of video evidence and have the skills to apply that understanding to the management of tapes.
* Preferably should have some knowledge of security work and police procedures for liaison with security operations.

Salary / Hourly Rate: £19.43 – £20.4per hour but TBA
