Catering / Waiting / Bar Staff – Grand Stately Venue

INTRODUCTION:

This is an opportunity to join the team of this Grade I and II listed site. Maintenance of the site continues today with ongoing restoration work to ensure that this legacy lives on into the future.

We need catering staff to work in the Club, Coffee shop and Great Hall serving meals and drinks etc. You will be employed on an as and when required basis, ideal for doing a few extra shifts a month (if you are available), in lovely grounds, covering sickness, holidays and any large functions, where extra staff may be needed.

Staff are responsible to the line manager within the department they are assigned. This can be either in the Coffees shop, Private Club or Great Hall. You will be required to maintain a high standard of service and cleanliness in all areas of employment.

PAY / TERMS ETC:

This would be as and when hours so nothing fixed. You will join what is termed as “bank staff”, meaning should they need anyone to cover holidays, sickness, help out with large functions etc, then you will be contacted to see if you are available to cover.

Ideal for someone wanting a few extra shifts a month to top up income, someone who has other committments and wanting a few shifts a month, someone studying, semi-retired etc…

£26,000 per year

You will be require to have a clearance check due to the nature of high profile customers and the natrue of the establishment.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

To work within the Catering Department as assigned by the Head of Catering.

To record all cash takings via the cash register.

To have outstanding customer services at all times, being respectful, polite and cheerful to all customers.

To serve hot and cold food and drinks to residents, staff and guests as requested by the customer

Clear and clean down tables and ensure the guest areas are maintained to a high level of cleanliness

To maintain a high standard of both food and personal hygiene

To maintain the standard of cleanliness in the area of employment.

To clean all crockery, cutlery, glassware and equipment.

To assist with service at special functions held as and when required

To assume responsibility for own Health & Safety and for the Health & Safety of those affected by the post holder.

To work under direction of permanent staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Food Hygiene Qualification

Experience working in catering, functions, or bar work, in hotels, conferencing, or similar.

Ability to carry out duties using flexibility, initiative, co-operation and with the minimum of supervision.

The ability to use all equipment properly as trained.

Excellent level of English and personal presentation skills

High standard of customer service.
