Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

Overview:

Insight Executive Group is delighted to have partnered with The Seven Forces Procurement Team to run a recruitment campaign for several roles, including this exciting contract for a Category Manager within their Corporate and Operations team.

Seven Forces offer a highly flexible approach to work, and all applicants are offered the opportunity to choose from seven locations to work from across the East of England; including Essex, Kent, Norfolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Suffolk.

About the role:

The overall purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate corporate and operational related procurement activity for the Operations Team.

To apply for this role, you will have demonstrable experience of managing high risk and high-value contract procurement. You will be confident in undertaking corporate and operational related procurement activities, including market development, tendering, implementation, and monitoring of procurement contracts across the Seven Forces as directed by the Head of Category Corporate and Operational.

You will possess the knowledge and expertise to monitor the over-arching supplier market, and key market suppliers in terms of performance and stability, highlighting and tracking risks where appropriate. You will have the skills to lead (and assist where required) on complex, strategic, contractual and commercial negotiations on the Corporate and Operational category, across the Seven Forces, maximising value for money for the police forces.

You will utilise your knowledge to provide expert procurement, commercial and legal advice to the OPCC’s and Chief Officer teams across the Seven Forces, to enable them to deliver their Policing Plans within the Corporate and Operational category stream. You will be keen to maintain visibility with the Chief Officer and OPCC teams across the Seven Forces and by demonstrating reliability will quickly gain their trust and support.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark during a 12-month contract that will provide pivotal guidance and support to the Corporate and Operations Team.
