Carpenter

Salary: £22.8 per hour

TXM Recruit is working in partnership with an award-winning organisation on an exciting new project in Guildford. They are looking for experienced Carpenters and Fire Door Installers to become part of an ever expanding and skilled team.

The Carpenter will carry out installation on new fire doors, upgrading old ones, repairs to fire doors etc. All work will be completed within social housing.

Hours: Monday – Friday 8AM – 4:40PM

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Installation and maintenance of fire doors
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on civil and associated building fabric services in accordance with the PPM programme, KPI and personal competence and training.
• Respond in a timely manner to ad-hoc breakdown requests as identified by the Helpdesk, supervisor/manager or as a minimum, as per the site contract.
• Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
• Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within statutory and Company guidelines.
• Safely operate all types of access equipment, hand, and power tools in accordance with health & safety and manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment and adherence to health & safety and infection control procedures.
• Maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic.
• Willingness to assist and work flexibly with other trades/colleagues.
• Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by supervisor/manager.

Pay: £38,532 Per annum (£19 per hour).

REQUIRED EXPEREINCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• A recognised industry (City & Guilds) building carpentry qualification or equivalent
• Experience in the installation of fire doors
• Full clean Driving License.
• Strong Carpentry and building fabric background.
