JAM CARE is recruiting for all levels of care staff, from Carers, to Senior Carers to work in complex care packages across Shropshire, North Wales and the West Midlands

Where: Shrewsbury & surrounding areas

Shifts available: Days, Nights, a mixture of both, (12-hour shifts)

You’ll need:

  • A valid right to work in the UK
  • UK Driving licence + access to a car (or a way to get to work)
  • To live in the area and be willing to travel to the homes of our clients

The Job:

You will be caring for and supporting clients in their own homes and supporting their families and loved ones. The role involves working with vulnerable adults who require help and support which could be one or a combination of the following: clinical, practical or mental.

You must follow the client’s Care Plan and follow the instructions of the Nurse Manager and will work in conjunction with colleagues, JAM Care Nurse Manager and the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team (District Nurse, Occupational Therapist, GP etc).

At times you may be expected to accompany your client to visits and appointments e.g. GP, hospital, days out, shopping trips etc. and may be asked to care for your clients during any hospital stays.

Our usual shift length is an industry standard 12 hours, and you will usually work with another colleague on a 2 to 1 basis. We expect our carers to work with 1-2 clients maximum, but only 1 client per day.

Communication is key in all aspects of your role: with client, family, colleagues etc, it is also a requirement to do handovers and write up notes on your App. Notes and handovers should be clear, accurate and concise.

You will participate in training and development as required in the interests of our overall service and to meet statutory requirements.
