Care & Support Worker

Working for Cordant Care you will be expected to work a variety of assignments in the following sectors: residential homes for the elderly, supported living units and residential units for learning disabilities and mental health.

As a care assistant/support worker you can expect to complete the following duties:

All aspects of personal care including washing, toileting and dressing

Moving and handling including the use of hoists and aids

Assisting with food preparation and feeding

Domestic duties including cleaning and laundry

Working as part of a team

Support in the community

Prompting medication

Completing care plans and daily log sheets

All applicants will:

Have previous experience working in the health and social care industry and within Mental Health (6 months minimum)

Be caring and compassionate

Have the ability to work with a team

Have the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

Be able to provide a full employment history with gaps accounted for

Be able to provide details of the last 3 years of references

Be able to provide a DBS registered on the DBS update service or self-fund a DBS to the cost of £50

Be able to attend a 2 day training induction
