Role Profile
Our established vehicle manufacturing client are entering an exciting phase of growth as they expand production at their operations in East of England and bring new lines to the UK. As part of the ongoing development of the facility and the exciting drive to attract engineering talent to the region, they are now seeking a CAE Engineer (Computer Aided Engineering) with demonstrated capability in the simulation of component and system performance.
Responsibilities will include:
Being responsible for simulation, validation and optimization of parts, systems and whole vehicles;
Ability to demonstrate use of FEA to optimize the design of structural components, such as chassis, axels, and ROPS;
To deliver on performance, efficiency and drivability targets;
Perform 3D mechanical / structural analysis and model validation using a range of methods and techniques;
Using simulation models to perform robust engineering investigations and use output to influence engineering designs and/or business decisions;
Data processing and reporting;
Development and maintenance of data / model management and version control systems;
Supporting project activities to guarantee project delivery in line with established timelines and gateway deliverables;
Develop test methodologies to improve data validation capabilities;
Preparation and presentation of material to support internal project status reviews;
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Engineering is required;
Experience in mechanical / structural analysis for components, using 3D tools, such as Abaqus, HyperMesh, Ansys, Nastran or equivalent;
Experience in Vibration and Fatigue analysis for components;
Good understanding of integration of components into vehicle systems;
Experience of a simulation, analysis & development environment – model architecture definition, model, and boundary condition set up, data processing and reporting;
Understanding of fluids and thermal modelling for drive line components using appropriate tools, such as Matlab / Simulink or equivalent;
Self-motivated and able to work with low levels of supervision to defined objectives;
