An excellent opportunity with a market leading manufacture to take on responsibility for their manufacturing buying.

• To assist the Purchasing Manager with the on-going development and management of a supplier base which ensures production target deadlines are met, and efficiency and productivity are maximised.
• Oversee the logistical control of parts being purchased from overseas suppliers, including import and freight management.
• Assist in sourcing of new products, liaising with the Design and Development Department where appropriate, ensuring new products are brought to market in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Assist the Purchasing Manager with the day-to-day running of the Central Buying Team.
• To manage free issue components from customers, ensuring parts received are in line with production requirements
• Continually review the overall ‘value’ offered by existing suppliers and ensure the companies purchasing remains globally competitive by identifying good opportunities, recognizing market fluctuations and capitalizing on advantageous buying situations.
• Purchase and manage materials in line with inventory targets across multiple sites.
• Forecasting of purchasing demands based on market fluctuations and trends.

The ideal candidate will have buying experience in a manufacturing environment together with excellent negotiation skills.
